The RMAX 1000 engine uses a shorter stroke than the 850, but a much larger bore. The Wolverine RMAX 1000's engine produces around 40 more horsepower than the 850, and utilizes Yamaha's all-new Ultramatic transmission. The engine is strong, snappy, and perfectly happy hauling the RMAX around at speed.

The fit and finish of an RMAX is superior to that of an X2, and the RMAX also comes with more perks like better suspension. These perks, however, don't come for free. The rear differential is locked on the Yamaha Wolverine R-Spec, which forces both of the rear tires to spin simultaneously.

The Yamaha Wolverine RMAX tops out at 70 MPH, but even at 50 MPH or so, you'll hear it screaming.
