From Shenandoah National Park and the numerous lakes it houses within its borders. Virginia is an ideal destination for recreational ATV riding due to its mountainous terrain and scenic views. Here are a few ATV trails in Virginia that will take you on an exciting off-road adventure.

1.Big Boys Playground LLC

Location: 5347 N. Valley Pike., Harrisonburg, VA 22802

Dates Open:  Daily

Fees: $30/OHV

This park is all types of vehicles welcomed. It opens everyday and about 100 acres with a 5 miles of trail.

2.Catfish ATV Trails & Pond

Location: 480 Lewis Road, Martinsville, VA 24112

Dates Open:  Winter Hours: Wed-Fri 10am-5pm, Weekends 10am-6pm; Spring & Summer Hours: Wed & Thur 10am-5pm, Sat 10am-11pm, Sun 10am-6pm

Fees: $15/rider

Motorbikes, ATVs, UTVs are welcomed, and camping is only permitted in developed areas.

3.Coal Canyon

Location:  Southern Gap Road, Grundy, VA 24614

Dates Open: Daily sunrise to sunset

Fees:  Annual Pass - $60 (if purchased online add $3). Resident Annual Pass - $30; Day Pass - $30, Youth 12 and under - $33

The Spearhead Trails User Permit Sticker is needed. And the camping and campfire is prohibited.

4.Elkhorn Lake and Campground ATV Trails

Location: 2500 Elkhorn Road, Java, VA 24565

Dates Open: Daily

Fees: $10/rider(Day Use Fee)

This trail has limit to noise and maximum vehicle width, camping is only permitted in developed areas.
